Log into Prolific today and you’ll notice it’s looking a little different. That’s because everyone’s account is now attached to at least one workspace.

Up until now, Prolific was designed for individual researchers. But it’s meant that quite a few teams have been using roundabout ways to work together on Prolific, making collaboration more effort and less secure than it should be.

Over the recent months we’ve been designing a way for whole teams to access all their studies and funds on Prolific, so they can work together seamlessly.

Here are some of the big benefits of workspaces.

Give your whole team access for free

Invite as many people as you like to your shared workspace, since there’s no extra cost for adding members. Everyone invited can access the team funds and run studies within budget, without hassle.

Now you can get rid of all those time-consuming conversations with your finance teams by giving them direct access to the workspace. Plus, with funds attached to workspaces, there’s only one to top up instead of several individual accounts.

Assign admins and collaborators

We also realize that when your whole team is in Prolific, you may need to limit what some people can access. That’s why we’ve created admins and collaborators.

Admins can invite and remove teammates, so the right people are included in projects. Everyone invited can add money, then draft and run studies using the shared funds. We'll be improving how permissions work over time.

Organize studies into projects

Some accounts have literally thousands of studies, which can be very hard to keep organized. But it also doesn’t take thousands of studies for your completed and drafts folders to become messy.

Projects add an extra layer of organization, so you can sort studies by topic, theme or thesis. You can have as many projects as required within each workspace.

Collaborate with external teams too

There’s also no limit to the number of workspaces you can create. If you want to run individual studies with your own pot of funds, create a new workspace for yourself. Or if you want to work on some projects with another team, create another new workspace and invite them.
